About The Role As a First 5 Forever Officer you will be part of the small, high performing team responsible for the implementation of First 5 Forever early literacy initiatives across the Ipswich City Council region.
You will support the wider Library Programs team in achieving optimal reach in the community through inclusive and enriching learning and discovery experiences that promote literacy, learning and ongoing connection with the library.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the development, implementation and promotion of local First 5 Forever initiatives targeting children 0-5 years and their parents and carers
- Regular delivery of a wide range of early literacy and play based learning programs, primarily at outreach locations.
- Building community connections to support parents as their child’s first and most important teachers
- Developing high quality resources to support program delivery and engagement

About You To be successful in this role you will have:
- Diploma of Applied Science (Library Technician) or equivalent qualification in a field related to early years education and training from a recognised institution; or Year 12 education and a combination of experience, training and competence relevant to the position
- C class driver licence
- Working with Children Check – Issue of Blue Card and Positive Notice Letter (issued by the Queensland Government) or Exemption Card
- Passion for early years learning and the community you work in

About The Benefits This is a part time fixed term position working 19 hours per week until 30 June 2026, with a salary commencing at $85,007 per annum (pro-rata) plus 12.5% superannuation.
