Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
- Source and evaluate potential supplier and vendors.
- Request and analyze quotations and proposal.
- Negotiate terms, pricing and delivery schedules.
- Monitor and ensure accuracy of the purchase request process performed by Purchasing Assistant.
- Manage and liaise with supplier on any non routine or adhoc matter.
- Monitor vendor performance, quality of goods and compliance with agreements.
- Monitor and follow up delivery schedule with supplier.
- Resolve supplier-related issues and disputes strategically.
- Work closely with with warehouse and logistic team to track inventory levels and related purchasing matter.
- Prepare regular procurement reports.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Contribute to cost-reduction initiatives
- Monitor purchasing budget and supporting forecasting activities.
- Provide training/guidance in purchasing process/system to new comer and/or any team member in the department.
- Support purchase request process in the absence of purchasing admin
- Ensuring that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications.
- Support Purchasing Manager in developing new procurement improvement plan initiative. Monitor and manage purchasing maintenance
- Maintain purchase request document filing and safekeeping
- Coordinate with Warehouse on stock transfer or stock discrepancy matter
- Collaborate with Sales Team on purchase requisition clarification/communication of delay in delivery from supplier (if any)
- Generate reports as and when necessary and be requested.
- Provide training/guidance in purchasing process/system to new comer and/or any team member in the department.
- Support purchase request process in the absence of purchasing admin
- Ensuring that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications. Involve and manage weekly & monthly Container Load Planning (CLP)
Qualification
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a purchasing or procurement role, ideally within the manufacturing or logistics industry
- Possess a Bachelor Degree or Diploma in any field.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Good communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English (Mandrin is advantage)
- Independent and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Detail-oriented and able to juggle multiple tasks and priorities
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related fie
