Role Overview:
We are seeking a Tax Professional, Enrolled Agent (EA) to join our tax team in Kathmandu. This position requires working U.S. business hours to serve our American client, which means an overnight schedule in Nepal. You will prepare and review tax returns, conduct tax research, assist during audits, and support tax planning strategies. Responsibilities:
- Tax Preparation & Analysis – Prepare accurate U.S. individual and business tax returns by analyzing financial data, reviewing source documents, and applying relevant tax laws. Create schedules, reconciliations, and supporting workpapers to ensure compliance.
- Tax Documentation & Compliance – Maintain well-organized, audit-ready records for all tax filings, provisions, and adjustments. Ensure adherence to document retention policies and IRS requirements.
- Audit & IRS Correspondence Support – Assist with federal and state tax audits by compiling requested documentation, drafting responses to tax authority inquiries, and collaborating with team members to resolve issues effectively.
- Tax Planning Assistance – Support proactive tax strategies by gathering client data, performing tax impact analyses, and helping implement plans to minimize liabilities and maximize savings.
- Process Optimization – Identify and recommend process improvements, including automation opportunities, to streamline tax preparation, compliance, and reporting workflows.
- Cross-Department Collaboration – Partner with colleagues in accounting, finance, and other departments to ensure timely and accurate information flow, meeting client and company deadlines.
Apply if you have:
- Enrolled Agent (EA) designation (mandatory)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 1–2 years of U.S. tax preparation experience preferred (training available for strong candidates).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work overnight hours aligned with U.S. time zones.
