Senior Big Data Software Engineer

Our client is a leading managed WordPress hosting platform, empowering businesses with the performance, security, and reliability they need to grow online. Their platform automates the complexities of WordPress site management, helping teams focus on content and user engagement instead of infrastructure.

IF YOU ARE

• Experienced in Data and Analytics Engineering with 4+ years of hands-on practice
• Skilled in Go, Python, or another scripting language
• Proficient in dbt and SQL for delivering and optimizing data assets
• Strong in SQL debugging and query performance tuning
• Familiar with automation approaches for testing and tooling to ensure reliable delivery
• Experienced in working with one or more cloud platforms, like GCP (preferred), AWS, or Azure
• Knowledgeable in data warehouse technologies like BigQuery (preferred), Redshift, or Snowflake
• Confident in data modeling and organizing/normalizing data using dbt
• Experienced with Git for version control and collaborative development
• Familiar with Agile methodologies and delivering value iteratively
• Capable of translating business requirements into effective data models
• Fluent in spoken English at an upper-intermediate level for effective communication in a multicultural environment
• Familiarity with big data frameworks such as Spark or Databricks (will be a plus)

AND YOU WANT TO

• Work directly with the client and their engineering team to deliver high-value data solutions
• Develop and maintain cloud-based data replication pipelines using Python, Go, or tools like Fivetran
• Model, organize, and normalize data using dbt
• Automate test cases to ensure data quality and resilience against changes
• Contribute to CI/CD practices for the automated delivery of reliable code
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve alerts from data pipelines
• Document systems, data, and architecture, including ERDs
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance data warehousing and analytics solutions
• Promote best practices and maintain high-quality, maintainable data assets
• Review code contributions and guide adoption of standards for healthy, efficient data models
• Identify and implement process improvements to advance the Data and Analytics Engineering practice
