About the Company
We are seeking a dedicated Data Center Engineer to join our team. Your responsibilities will include the installation of new systems, including networking setups, as well as diagnosing and resolving a variety of software and hardware issues. Your work will directly impact our clients' ability to operate efficiently and effectively.
About the Role
Based in Sweden you will be supporting the Regional Service Delivery Manager who is responsible for the Hands & Eyes teams deployed across sites located in the Stockholm and Gothenburg regions. In addition, you will also be supporting the UK Based Customer Support Manager ensuring the completion of activities, requirements & deliverables supplied by our client including but not limited to:
Responsibilities
- Able to perform physical reboots of devices.
- Able to check for hardware alarms (failure lights).
- Able to check for console error messages.
- Able to complete hardware installs.
- You will be providing day to day data centre support.
- Maintain hardware inventory.
- Checking for console error messages where applicable.
- Assist in investigation / resolution of physical network faults and hardware issues.
- Able to load tape or CD media into the device to precede a recovery of a server.
- Able to complete all necessary logs to record Hands and Eyes activities.
- Able to professionally communicate and host customer contacts (for example engineers).
- You will need to be procedural minded with regards to all aspects of the service deliverables.
- Able to deal with incidents quickly and efficiently using approved procedures / guidance.
- Respond to any ad-hoc, low level skill task which is scripted/documented/in writing.
- Alerting Management to actual and or potential Service problems.
- Completes ad hoc activities at Managements request.
- Conforming with department procedures and SLAs/DOUs.
- Completing tasks to specified standards as set by the Client.
- Escorting third party vendors around the customer site and into the data centre.
Qualifications
- Proven General Data Centre Support experience working in a data centre environment.
- Updating customer applications (Service Now).
- Data centre Fibre & Copper patching and cabling support experience.
- Be proficient with Office 365.
Required Skills
- Full driving licence & own transportation.
