What We’re Working On

We’re supporting a client in defining and structuring a new technical initiative centered around financial systems and workflows. This includes collaborating directly with a fintech subject matter expert (SME) to capture requirements, prioritize features, and develop a roadmap for execution. The goal is to move from ambiguity to a clear, documented build plan.

What You’ll Do

• As an AWS Solutions Architect , you’ll lead the discovery and planning phase, working closely with a fintech specialist to define functional requirements and map system needs.
• You’ll act as the bridge between technical and business stakeholders, ensuring all features are clearly defined, dependencies are surfaced, and priorities are aligned.
• Lead structured discovery sessions with the fintech SME and other stakeholders
• Translate business conversations into clearly defined technical requirements and user stories
• Map out current and future-state workflows, particularly around financial operations
• Identify and document all systems, data sources, and integration points
• Prioritize features based on impact, feasibility, and business need
• Define success metrics and outline delivery milestones
• Deliver a comprehensive discovery report that includes:
• A detailed feature map aligned with business objectives
• Technical documentation of data flows, system usage, and integration points
• A phased build and implementation plan
• Risk assessment, dependencies, and recommended next steps

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience as an AWS Solutions Architect in software, data, or infrastructure projects
• Experience with AWS, preferably holding or working towards AWS Certified Solution Architect certification.
• Experience with performing a Solution Architecture role during large scale transformation programmes.
• Experience of business activity around areas such as financial, commercial, procurement, human resources, security, and logistics operating models.
• A broad understanding of current techniques and tooling including API-first design, Cloud Native, Containerisation and PaaS on AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Experience of working with Product or Agile teams at the same time, effectively governing architectural designs to enable continuous delivery.
• Strong experience facilitating feature-based planning and technical discovery
• Proven ability to translate complex business needs into structured technical requirements
• Comfortable working directly with technical SMEs and business leads
• Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Experience working in fast-moving, high-stakes environments with competing priorities

Nice to Have

• Prior experience in fintech or with financial systems (e.g., ERPs, payment platforms, accounting tools, or lending systems)
• Experience delivering projects involving data pipelines, integrations, or platform modernization
• Familiarity with project documentation tools (e.g., Confluence, Notion, Jira, Lucidchart)
