Role Overview:
The Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) will be responsible for leading the commercial strategy, business development, and revenue generation activities for the airport and its subsidiary companies. This role encompasses developing and executing strategies to maximize aeronautical and non-aeronautical revenue, enhancing the airport’s market positioning, fostering strategic partnerships, and driving customer-centric innovations. The CCO will work closely with the CEO and executive team to translate the company’s vision into sustainable commercial success, ensuring alignment with long-term growth objectives and the evolving aviation ecosystem
Key Responsibilities
1. Commercial Strategy & Revenue Growth
- Develop and implement a comprehensive commercial strategy covering both aeronautical and non-aeronautical revenue streams.
- Identify, evaluate, and capitalize on new market opportunities, products, and services to drive sustainable revenue growth.
- Oversee pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and commercial terms to ensure competitive positioning and profitability.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to inform strategic decision-making.
2. Business Development & Partnerships
- Lead the identification and development of strategic partnerships with airlines, tourism boards, cargo operators, and retail brands.
- Drive initiatives to position the airport as a preferred hub for passengers, cargo, and aviation services.
- Build relationships with global travel and trade organizations to attract new routes, services, and investments.
3. Non-Aeronautical Revenue Expansion
- Oversee the planning and development of retail, F&B, advertising, property leasing, car parking, and hospitality services.
- Maximize commercial potential of airport real estate, including landside and airside developments.
- Implement strategies to increase spend per passenger and optimize customer experience.
4. Subsidiary & Ecosystem Commercial Management
- Provide commercial oversight and direction to subsidiary companies in areas such as cargo, logistics, ground handling, fueling, and tourism services.
- Ensure subsidiaries achieve targeted commercial performance and align with the group’s strategic growth plans.
- Support the development of new commercial ventures and innovative service offerings.
5. Marketing, Brand & Customer Experience
- Lead brand positioning, marketing, and promotional campaigns to enhance the airport’s visibility and reputation locally and internationally.
- Champion digital innovation, loyalty programs, and personalized services to enhance customer engagement and satisfaction.
- Oversee passenger service quality standards in collaboration with operations to ensure a seamless travel experience.
6. Financial & Strategic Oversight
- Develop commercial budgets and revenue forecasts, ensuring profitability targets are met or exceeded.
- Contribute to corporate strategic planning, aligning commercial initiatives with operational and financial goals.
- Analyze performance metrics and implement corrective actions to optimize revenue outcomes.
7. Leadership & Culture
- Lead, mentor, and develop the commercial and business development teams to foster a high-performance culture.
- Promote cross-departmental collaboration to align operational execution with commercial objectives.
- Champion innovation, agility, and customer-centricity across the organization.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Aviation Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 15 years’ progressive experience in commercial leadership within aviation, airports, with at least 5 years in an executive role.
- Proven track record in developing and executing revenue growth strategies, securing partnerships, and managing large-scale commercial operations.
- Strong knowledge of global aviation markets, commercial best practices, and emerging industry trends.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver measurable financial results in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
