Job Description:

Join Our Research Team!

We are pleased to announce three openings for graduate students and postdoctoral researchers in our group at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.

Available Positions

1. Graduate Student – Nanostructure Fabrication Using Self-Assembly of Nanoparticles

Research Focus: Fabrication of nanostructures for applications in optical systems. You will develop cutting-edge methodologies for scalable, precise fabrication of quasiperiodic nano-architectures via ultra-fast dry self-assembly and mechanical transfer. The work will include fundamental studies on the assembly of polydisperse nanoparticles, enabling the creation of non-conventional yet highly controlled structures, and their applications in precision optics, biology, and beyond.

Example: Tzadka et al., ACS Appl. Mater. Interfaces 16, 17846–17856 (2024)

·      Required Background: Materials science, chemistry, physics, chemical engineering, or related fields.

·      Preferred Experience: Optics, electron microscopy, nanofabrication.

2. Graduate Student/Postdoctoral Researcher – Nanomaterials in T Cell Signaling and Immune Response

Research Focus: Investigating how extracellular biophysical cues (ligand distribution, elasticity, nanotopography) influence T cell signaling and immune function. You will design nanoscale systems for precise biophysical stimulation of immune cells—through controlled biomolecule positioning and nanoscale mechanical stimulation—and use them to explore fundamental questions in immune system biophysics.

Examples: Le Saux et al., Nano Lett. 25, 11878−11887 (2025); Pandey et al., Nano Lett. 24, 5359−5402 (2024); Toledo et al., Sci. Adv. 7, eabc1640 (2021)

·      Required Background: Materials science, biophysics, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, or related interdisciplinary fields.

·      Preferred Experience: T-cell biology, experimental cell biology, biomaterials, biological microscopy.

3. Graduate Student/Postdoctoral Researcher – Engineering Nanostructures for T Cell Adoptive Immunotherapy

Research Focus: Developing nanostructures to enhance engineered T cell therapies for cancer treatment. You will design elastic nanostructured surfaces that provide tailored mechanical stimulation to T cells, improving their therapeutic performance against cancer.

Examples: Yassin et al., Adv. Mater. 37, 2412482 (2025); Pandey et al., ACS Appl. Mater. Interfaces 15, 31103−31113 (2023); Bhingardive et al., Nano Lett. 21, 4241−4248 (2021); Bhingardive et al., Adv. Funct. Mater. 2103063 (2021)

·      Required Background: Materials science, biophysics, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, or related interdisciplinary fields.

·      Preferred Experience: T-cell biology, experimental cell biology, biomaterials, biological microscopy.
