The Opportunity As the ITN Logistics Coordinator , you will be responsible for the inventory management and logistics functions of malaria vector control activities for the PMI Evolve Project.

Project Description The U.S. President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI) Evolve Project, awarded to Abt Global in December 2022, supports national malaria programs with the planning, implementation, and monitoring of vector control interventions, including insecticide-treated net (ITN) distribution, indoor residual spraying (IRS), and essential entomological monitoring required to make vector control decisions. PMI Evolve Zimbabwe will assist the NMCP and partners to support the 2025 ITN mass campaign and co ntinuous distribution through antenatal care (ANC) and expanded program on immunization (EPI) distribution channels in select high-burden districts.

Core Responsibilities

  • Management of the project’s inventory control system, including storage, quality control, inventory record keeping, and inventory reporting.
  • Directs and supervises the storage, distribution, and transport of IVC – whether ITNs, or new malaria vector control products – commodities and equipment throughout the country.
  • Prepares logistics and materials distribution plan prior to each ITN distribution.
  • Supervises Warehouse Manager(s) and works closely with local government stakeholders, partner organizations, and/or community leaders to leverage existing logistics capacity and elevate their skills.
  • Manages the logistics for all project activities, including routine and/or mass ITN distributions, entomological activities, and other events such as trainings, workshops and meetings, etc.
  • In collaboration with the Vector Control Manager:
  • Ensures clearance and proper disposal of all waste material and excess items from project stores.
  • Helps to train warehouse managers, site supervisors, storekeepers, and other seasonal support staff on environmental compliance and safety issues related to malaria vector control interventions.

What We Value Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree + five years of relevant experience, or master’s degree + three years of relevant experience, or PhD + zero years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration or other relevant field.
  • At least four (4) years of relevant professional experience, with significant experience in the logistics and management of commodities. Demonstrated experience in field warehouse/stores management.
  • At least two (2) years working in close partnership with government stakeholders, local community leaders, and partner organizations with an emphasis on capacity strengthening and skills transfer.
  • Demonstrated experience managing logistics for ITN distribution is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated capability to work in close partnership with external stakeholders and transfer skills.
  • Excellent management, supervisory, organizational, computer, and writing skills.
  • English language and other local language/s fluency.
