Position Overview

The AR Controller Supervisor is responsible for overseeing credit management practices for cash customer payments to ensure they are processed, recorded, and reconciled in a timely manner. The role ensures zero overdue receivables, enforces the company’s hold-release procedures, and coordinates with internal teams to streamline billing and collection processes. This position also focuses on developing the AR team’s capability, improving operational efficiency, and strengthening customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cargo and Document Release Control

  • Supervise and ensure the evaluation of payment status and decisions to release or hold cargo, Seaway Bill (SWB), and Electronic Delivery Orders (e-DO) in alignment with company credit policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate closely with the AR Collection team, Customer Service, and other relevant departments to monitor real-time cargo and document status linked to payments.
  • Ensure timely posting and reconciliation of payments.

2. Cash Account Monitoring and Collection

  • Regularly track cash customer accounts to identify non-payments, delays, or irregularities, and initiate corrective actions.
  • Implement proactive follow-ups on overdue payments to ensure collection and minimize bad debt risks.

3. Payment Discrepancy Management

  • Review payment discrepancies, analyze root causes, and implement corrective and preventive measures.
  • Escalate critical customer accounts requiring management follow-up.

4. Customer Relationship and Communication

  • Maintain effective communication with key customers to facilitate smooth collections, resolve payment issues, and provide necessary support.

5. Team Development and Efficiency

  • Review team performance regularly, ensuring compliance with company policies, processes, and procedures (P3W).
  • Coach, mentor, and equip the team with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to meet performance targets.
  • Identify and prepare successors for key positions within the team.

6. Business Process Improvement

  • Identify process inefficiencies and recommend automation and analytical solutions for the AR process.

7. Corporate Culture

  • Actively integrate Meratus core values into daily operations and team collaboration.

Eliminate AR Bad Debt Risk

  1. Reduce AR bad debt in IDR value.

Zero AR Overdue for Cash Customers

  1. No cargo released to cash customers with outstanding payments.
  2. 99% of payments allocated within 1 working day.
  3. Discrepancies resolved within 7 working days.
  4. AR impairment calculated twice a year.

People Development

  • Prepare at least 1 successor for a key position.
  • Achieve the team’s training index target.
  • Conduct at least 2 coaching sessions per year for subordinates.

Business Process Improvement

  • Identify and address past AR challenges with improvement opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Education : Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience : Minimum of 3 years in a similar role within a comparable company scale.

Competency Requirements

Technical Competencies

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles related to accounts receivable.
  • Experience using ERP systems and accounting software (Preferably D365).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
