As a Principal Data Platform Engineer , you will lead the design, development, and implementation of our data warehouse and analytical infrastructure. Your role will be central to creating new capabilities, developing key features, and rethinking existing processes to help transform ILTE into a truly data-driven organization .

Key Responsibilities:

·       Architect and evolve the data platform to ensure scalability, reliability, and security.

·       Lead development of core infrastructure (orchestration, observability, CI/CD, metadata systems).

·       Enable machine learning and AI capabilities by building foundational infrastructure for feature stores, model pipelines, and real-time data processing.

·       Design hybrid data infrastructure that supports both cloud and on-prem environments while minimizing vendor lock-in through modular, portable architectures.

·       Develop and manage APIs for secure and efficient data exchange with internal and external systems.

·       Drive platform strategy and cross-functional adoption through tools, documentation, and advocacy.

·       Mentor engineers and influence engineering best practices across data and platform teams.

·       Evaluate and integrate new technologies , setting long-term direction for the platform stack.

·       Ensure operational excellence , including cost optimization, monitoring, and incident response.

What We’re Looking For:

·       7+ years of experience in data engineering, platform engineering, or infrastructure development roles.

·   Deep technical expertise in data infrastructure , including cloud platforms (AWS and/or GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform).

·       Hands-on experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines and data workflow orchestration using tools such as Apache Airflow.

·     Proven ability to design hybrid architectures , combining cloud and on-premises systems while minimizing vendor lock-in through modular and portable solutions.

·       Experience designing and managing APIs for secure, performant data exchange across systems (REST, GraphQL, or gRPC).

·       Practical understanding of data infrastructure for machine learning , including feature stores, model pipelines, and real-time data processing.

·      Strong technical leadership and communication skills , with the ability to mentor engineers, make architectural decisions, and collaborate across teams.

·    Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and incident management solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).

·      Ability to evaluate and adopt emerging technologies and make strategic decisions for long-term platform evolution.

Compensation:

Monthly salary – from 4300 EUR to 5300 EUR before taxes. The specific salary will be offered based on your work experience and competencies.

An employee may be eligible for a variable pay component, the amount and payment procedure of which are determined by the policy regulating remuneration and/or performance evaluation at ILTE.
