Job Description:

Overall Purpose

This is a replacement role within the Events & Retail Marketing Team, with a specific focus on supporting the development, implementation, and management of events in China under the supervision of the Assistant Event and Retail Marketing Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and communicate concepts & proposals with the line manager for event programs in the China market, in alignment with Corporate guidelines and reflecting market needs.
  • Coordinate and execute in-store and off-site events in China, including brand and PR events, new store openings, special events, sponsorships, seasonal or product launch events and others.
  • Manage vendors and third parties, including event agencies, security agencies, shopping malls, design, production, and F&B providers, etc.
  • Develop event operational manuals and checklists, and continuously monitor all details of event organization to ensure company standards are maintained throughout, and the image of the brand is elevated.
  • Collaborate with the Events & Retail Marketing Team on event planning and logistics, including critical paths, budgets, venue and agency sourcing, etc., as well as post-event reporting and analysis. Work closely with other Burberry teams to ensure deadlines are met and all parties are kept informed.
  • Assist the line manager in identifying potential strategic partners in each market to reach new target customer bases, and work closely with the retail team to identify specific needs (e.g., retail shopping mall OOH requests or shopping mall social platform editorial needs) in major cities.
  • Develop event briefing materials and tracking mechanisms, communicate with internal stakeholders to ensure the expected deliverables can be accomplished and measured.
  • Compile monthly competitor event activity reports and shopping mall social platforms editorial coverage reports for China and maintain the China event calendar.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Technical Skills, e.g. Software Skill:

  • Advanced Excel level
  • MS office applications – Word, PowerPoint, Access, Project, etc.
  • SAP – state level
  • Event applications-3D max, CAD, PS, AI, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Fluent Mandarin, both written and spoken
  • Strong command of English

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 3-4 years of relevant work experience in PR, events, or advertising, preferably within luxury brands, consumer products, or agencies
  • Proven experience in event management and retail marketing, with a solid understanding of Chinese culture and business environment
  • Flexibility to work long hours as required
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Positive mindset, strong professionalism, eagerness to learn, and keen fashion sense
