With our footprint continuing to exand we are looking for a dedicated and professional Assistant Payroll Administrator to join our Mauritius office.
Assistant Payroll Administrator
Location: Ebene, Mauritius
The Assistant Payroll Administrator plays a crucial role in delivering timely, accurate, and efficient payroll services. This position is responsible for processing employee salaries, calculating statutory deductions, and ensuring compliance with relevant labour laws and internal company policies. The role also involves maintaining up-to-date payroll records, responding to employee queries with professionalism, and supporting month-end reporting requirements.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery
- Ensure smooth and error-free payroll cycle
- Prepare and verify payroll data, maintaining records for accuracy and data integrity
- Ensure compliance with tax, superannuation, and statutory obligations through reporting and documentation
- Support payroll process improvements and service delivery initiatives
- Gather timesheet and check integrity data in conjunction with the site administrator and project management
- Ensure pay subs are recorded accurately.
- Assist with audits
- Post payroll journals in accounting/ERP systems
- Analysis of results and reporting
- Liaison with financial institutions as and when required
- Complete month-end checklist and to support financial reporting as per deadline set
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
- 5 years’ experience in payroll, and the use of a computerised payroll system (e.g. Praxima), or other relevant database
- Strong interpersonal skills and multitasking ability
- Proven ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner
- High attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality
- Strong sense of accountability
- Ability to meet deadlines and identify and deal with problems
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
