The purpose of the role of Underwriting Quality Assurance Analyst is to assist the Underwriting Operations function in the delivery of high-quality client services by helping to ensure smooth operation of the control environment. The role is responsible for the quality assurance of underwriting risk data captured within client’s systems and providing evidence of this.

The role requires a collaborative team orientated approach across multiple teams as well as liaison with third parties performing risk capture activities. The role forms part of the client’s Underwriting Operations function within the Bratislava Centre of Excellence.

On a day to day basis the work allocation and functional reporting line will be into the Underwriting Support Manager responsible for management of the Quality Assurance (QA) capability.

Your Tasks:

  • Perform designated file reviews in order to assess accuracy of contract data
  • Record the outcome, prepare and maintain test data for QA reviews
  • Organise and summarise results of QA reviews
  • Evaluate data and draft reports outlining results and trends of QA activity
  • Assist the Team Manager with external & internal audits being carried out regarding financial, process &/or regulatory matters
  • Communicate quality or compliance concerns with urgency
  • Assist the team in identifying automation opportunities to enhance control processes and reduce manual inputs
  • Ensure activities are performed in accordance with agreed SLAs/KPIs

About you: Essential skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from economics, management or similar fields
  • At least 2 years of experience working within a commercial insurer with a solid knowledge of underwriting processesPossess analytical skills in order to report on the results of QA reviews and highlight any trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Good understanding of wording and insurance slips
  • Experience across more lines of insurance business
  • Excellent computer literacy with a particular focus on data analysis
  • Proven passion for data quality with good analytical skills in order to report on the results of QA reviews
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Proven ability to prioritise and organise effectively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Highlight any trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Proven ability to adapt and thrive in agile environments

Nice to have:

  • Possesses a continuous improvement mindset evidenced through a qualification such as Lean Six Sigma or similar
  • Data profiling and root cause analysis skills
  • Experience with numerous lines of commercial insurance and reinsurance
